Adecco are recruiting on behalf of the London Borough of Hounslow for a Children's Home Residential Manager. Temporary Contract initially for 1 year, £31.15 PAYE or £41.66 Umbrella per hour, 36 hours Mon to Fri (08:45:AM - 05:00:PM).
Location: Children's Home – Bedfont Place, Hounslow Council is developing a new six‑bed residential children's home on Bedfont Lane, expected to open in Spring 2026. This project serves children with complex needs, offering a stable environment. This is the borough's first new council‑run home in over a decade, designed to support care‑experienced children.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a newly recruited team, including:
- 2 Deputy Managers
- 3 Senior Residential Support Workers
- 10 Residential Support Workers (including 4 Waking Night staff)
- Handy Person
- Cook
- Domestic Cleaner
- Oversee all onboarding, induction, and training processes for new staff.
- Support preparations for Ofsted registration, including reviewing and contributing to required documentation.
- Act as the registered manager on the Ofsted application, undertake the Ofsted interview, and manage the registration visit.
- Ensure the home is ready for opening on completion of construction, maintaining high standards of safeguarding, quality, and compliance.
- Provide flexible support during occasional on‑call duties or when children's needs require additional time.
Qualifications
- QCF Level 3 or equivalent – Required
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare – Desirable (applicants must have started or be willing to enrol)
Requirements
- Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children and worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
- Once appointed to the role, a successful Ofsted Fit Person interview must be completed within 6 months.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of Ofsted requirements and children's residential care regulations.
