Residential Care Officer – Our Place

Stockton Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Residential Care Officer to join Our Place, where you will provide high quality care and support in a residential setting to vulnerable young people who are unable to live with their families. You will work with children with behavioural and emotional difficulties and other additional needs.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include providing day‑to‑day support, acting as a positive role model, and delivering care in a 7‑day shift rota system, including weekends, sleepovers and some waking nights.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a willingness to work towards it within 18 months of appointment.
  • A positive attitude and experience of working with children and young people.
  • Ability to work over a 7-day shift rota system 365 days a year, including weekends, sleepovers and some waking nights.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary grade on appointment will be determined by qualifications and experience (up to £33,699).
  • 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 days after 5 years service (plus bank holidays); additional leave can be purchased.
