Are you interested in working within the criminal justice system? In a core role support the police.

We are looking for people who want to make a difference working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees — supporting them during their time in custody and working with other agencies to support detainees’ rehabilitation.

Previous experience working within the police, security, or armed forces would be beneficial, but full training will be provided. You will be expected to complete national Police Vetting prior to starting the role, and you will be paid for the days you attend the ITC course.

Wages and Benefits

  • £13.75 per hour
  • Minimum 2, 12‑hour shifts per month
  • Holiday entitlement based on the hours you work

Job Overview

The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. While detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and well‑being needs. As well as escorting detainees and making recorded observations as per their individual plan, you’ll work with colleagues and the Police to deal with any detainee that is a risk of harming themselves.

Requirements

  • Previous Police/Security/forces experience would be beneficial
  • Reasonable level of spoken and written English and basic numeracy
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
  • Valid British passport or settled status
  • All candidates are subject to police vetting checks
