The role will generally entail 3 areas:
Procurement
- Procuring IT equipment directly from approved suppliers (payment card transaction).
- Obtain quotations for higher value IT goods and services.
- Raise order requests and submit to Procurement, ensuring that purchase orders are fully approved and forwarded to the supplier.
- Process all delivery notes and invoices efficiently, flagging any issues to IT management.
Asset Management
- Process mobile phone requests and submit to our mobile‐phone partner for action.
- Work with other IT teams and group security to ensure that equipment used by people leaving the Murphy Group is returned.
- Conduct regular audits of the IT assets database (CMDB) to maintain accurate records.
Financial
- Prepare and process charges to other departments for IT equipment and services.
- Assist the IT Commercial Manager in preparing cost reports.
Training
- Apprenticeship Standard in Business Administration Level 3 with Learning Skills Partnership.
Qualifications required
- GCSE Maths and English at grade A*‑C / 4‑9 (or equivalent).
- Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable. Please note that we do not provide sponsorship.
- Full UK driver’s licence.
Skills required
- No prior experience is needed, but you must be ready to learn, have a positive mindset, and a can‑do attitude.
- Reasonable competency in Excel is desired.
