Job Description:

At Innovate Healthcare Services, we partner with NHS organisations across Warwickshire to deliver digital transformation that improves services, outcomes, and patient care. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Project Delivery team and lead the delivery of complex digital programmes across acute, community, and primary care settings. This role will support major system priorities, working across organisational boundaries to implement solutions that deliver real, measurable impact for services and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex digital projects to agreed time, quality, and scope, maintaining control of delivery plans and milestones.
  • Support achievement of defined benefits and outcomes, contributing to value and service improvement.
  • Operate within effective governance frameworks, ensuring clear reporting, risks, and escalation.
  • Maintain delivery momentum, identifying and addressing risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, engaging clinical, operational, and technical teams to support delivery.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication, tailored to stakeholders and governance groups.
  • Apply PMO standards and project management best practice across all workstreams.
  • Support adoption and change, working with stakeholders to embed new ways of working.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, taking corrective action where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery practices within the organisation.
  • Prepare Project Briefs and Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) in collaboration with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
  • Secure appropriate approvals and authority to proceed with project delivery.
  • Plan and manage workstream delivery using agreed organisational tools and standards.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with organisational priorities, service improvement programmes, and wider NHS context.
  • Deliver solutions within the context of broader transformation programmes (including EPR and service change initiatives).
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and funding bids where required.
  • Identify opportunities for digital innovation and improvement that support programme objectives.
  • Develop and deliver effective communication and engagement plans tailored to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Training and Change teams to ensure change management and training approaches align with project needs.
  • Support benefits realisation by ensuring clear definition and tracking of outcomes.
  • Apply recognised project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2 or equivalent) proportionately to project delivery.
  • Adhere to Innovate PMO standards, governance processes, and best practice guidance.
  • Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary project teams, often without direct line management authority.
  • Provide direction, support, and motivation to ensure delivery objectives are achieved.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education and Professional Development
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
    • PRINCE2 qualification or equivalent.
    • Actively engage in continuous professional development (CPD), applying learning to improve personal effectiveness and contribute to enhanced delivery standards.
  • Essential
    • Strong understanding of NHS environments, structures, and priorities.
    • Strong knowledge and practical application of project management methodologies.
    • Strong leadership, influencing, and decision‑making skills.
    • Proven experience delivering complex digital or transformation projects.
    • Demonstrable experience in project planning and delivery across multiple workstreams (using recognised planning tools and approaches).
    • Experience of leading teams and driving delivery in complex, change‑driven environments.
    • Experience of monitoring and evaluating project performance and outcomes.
  • Desirable
    • Experience working with NHS clinical systems.
