Mobile Vehicle Technician – Chelmsford

Location: Colchester, Essex

Job Responsibilities

• You’re someone who gets people. This isn’t just spanners and engines—our mechanics are out there on driveways, chatting with customers, giving advice, and representing the RAC with pride. You’re not just in the RAC—you are the RAC. Every fix, every chat, every driveway visit shows what we’re all about.
• You like mixing things up. Every day’s a little different—servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks. Additionally you will manage your stock, do your reporting, and keep customer conversations flowing.
• You think on your feet. You’ll be trusted to think on your feet and make the right call for each customer. Different fixes, different faces, new challenges every day.

Qualifications

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Competitive base salary of £45,370 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable) with on‑target earnings up to £57,000.
