Compliance and Customer Trading Manager | Food Retail | £36-42,000

An experienced Retail Operations Manager/Compliance Manager is required to join an established food retail business. This role carries a high level of responsibility for ensuring the store trades in a safe and legal manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the store team, demonstrating high standards of customer service and retail management.
  • Take ownership of all operational aspects of a large-format store, including stock management, wastage control, rota development and health & safety.
  • Audit and train staff on safe and legal standards.
  • Plan and control staff rota and hours to meet business needs.
  • Implement cost‑control measures and waste‑control initiatives.
  • Manage and develop the store team, driving performance and key store metrics.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a retail manager in a fast‑paced food environment, ideally large supermarket or big‑box store.
  • Strong operational background with a focus on compliance, health & safety, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and bring in relevant knowledge and experience.
