Junior Product Developer

Position: Junior Product Developer – JD Own Brand

Location: Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, Bury, Lancs BL9 8RR • Hours: 40 per week

Role Overview: The purpose of this job is to support the Product Developer & Senior Product Developer with the development of JD Own Brand product. Taking responsibility for specific areas under close supervision, the successful candidate will have relevant qualifications, experience and a passion for our product.

Responsibilities

• Issuing packs/comments and supplier communications throughout the process
• Setting up basic size charts, maintaining and updating the block library within the team
• Interpreting fit meeting notes
• Creating basic BOMs
• Completing test report approvals/ITS online, chasing suppliers and managing approvals
• Understanding a test matrix and training with PD on its creation
• Creating Care Label Templates
• Monitoring the critical path
• Supporting packing list & invoice queries
• Understanding sales analysis
• Taking on areas of responsibility for specific ranges under the guidance of PD & SPD as appropriate
• Managing day‑to‑day incoming/outgoing samples, ensuring correct documentation is attached
• Maintaining style details and information on relevant systems
• Assisting in the creation of tech packs and costings on the PLM system
• Approving lab‑dips and strike‑offs, referring issues to the design and buying team
• Participating in fit sessions and adding fit comments to the PLM system
• Measuring samples and providing comments
• Maintaining the critical path on the PLM system, chasing relevant information from suppliers and reporting issues
• Assisting with costing, negotiation and raising orders on the PLM system

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software is essential
• JD retail experience is highly desirable
• Basic Illustrator knowledge is an advantage
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications/experience incorporating Clothing Technology and Product Development
