The role of a Service Maintenance and Repair Technician is multifaceted and impactful.
As part of a mobile mechanic team, you will attend appointments, complete
service inspections, provide on‑the‑spot repairs, and keep vehicles running
smoothly. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will help you excel.
Responsibilities
- A communicator: Diagnose and explain issues to customers, ensuring they
understand the situation and feel safe.
- A self‑starter: Work independently or within a team, driving to various
locations in all weathers. No two jobs are the same; you will experience
appointment‑based work and breakdowns.
- A fixer/problem solver: Use technical ability to solve a variety of
issues, whether fixing the vehicle by the roadside or attending an
appointment.
- Represent the UK’s largest motoring organisation, acting as a superhero
to help members move on with their day in any weather.
Qualifications
- NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications
with the right experience.
- Full Category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings.
