We are excited to be partnering with a fast-growing, successful manufacturing SME business in East Yorkshire to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager. The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Commercial Finance Manager will work closely with senior leaders and operational teams across the business. You will transform operational and financial data into clear insight that supports better decisions, improves efficiency, and drives profitability. This is a highly visible role where finance is embedded in the business — not just reporting numbers, but actively shaping performance.

Key responsibilities include:Partner with operational and commercial leaders to provide financial insight that drives business performanceAnalyse key manufacturing cost drivers including scrap, cycle time, downtime, material usage and energy consumptionTranslate complex data into clear, actionable insight that non-finance teams can understand and act onModel the financial impact of operational improvements and investment decisionsSupport pricing, tenders and customer profitability analysisDevelop rolling forecasts and scenario models to support strategic planningAttend operational meetings to provide financial clarity and guide decision makingLead and develop a small finance team, building capability and commercial awarenessEnsure robust financial governance including management accounts, costing accuracy and financial controlsAbout You We are looking for a commercially curious and proactive finance professional who enjoys understanding how a business really works and influencing decisions through insight.Be ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualifiedHave experience in a manufacturing or engineering environmentPossess strong commercial acumen and an understanding of operational cost driversEnjoy working closely with operational teams and building strong relationships across the businessBe confident communicating financial information to both shop-floor teams and senior leadershipHave experience managing or developing finance team membersBe highly analytical with strong modelling and Excel skills (Power BI experience desirable)Why Join?
