Product Development Manager (Materials)

St Helens (commutable from Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington and surrounding areas)

Salary – £55,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

SRG is working with a leading UK manufacturer specialist rubber and glass material products. Based in the St Helens, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their team. This is a great opportunity for a senior chemist or engineer with a background in polymers and materials to take a step into a management role, or someone with previous management experience. Role Description

  • Advising senior management with product, customer and market insight to inform technical direction and business decisions
  • Defining detailed processing parameters to support accurate costing and pricing of new products
  • Driving innovation and collaboration by generating new product ideas and working cross‑functionally to solve technical challenges
  • Co‑ordinating, developing and engineering high performance glass and carbon fibre products for use in various commercial industries such as automotive and construction
  • Maintaining a strong customer focus by translating internal and external requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Providing technical leadership in an advanced materials R&D environment

Requirements

  • Ideally hold a degree/equivalent in a Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science related discipline
  • Significant recent experience in composite/polymer/material R&D
  • Ability to identify, gather, analyse, and interpret data to support decision-making and clearly present findings
  • Possess strong practical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Full right to work in the UK
