Senior Business Development Manager – Open Banking / API (Fintech)
Location: UK / Europe (remote)
An established fintech in the open banking space is hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to drive new revenue across banks, lenders, fintechs and digital platforms. The company provides API‑based open banking solutions for secure bank data access and account‑to‑account payments via a single connection to thousands of banks across 50+ countries.
The role
- Own the full sales cycle for mid‑market and enterprise clients, from prospecting to close.
- Target banks, EMIs, lenders and fintechs with data aggregation, enrichment and payment initiation propositions.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline, accurately forecasting in the CRM.
- Run discovery with senior stakeholders to uncover use cases and regulatory/commercial drivers.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, RFP responses and commercials, leading contract negotiation with support from Legal and Product.
- Work closely with Product, Marketing and Implementation to ensure successful onboarding and enable upsell/cross‑sell.
- Represent the business at events and webinars, acting as a subject‑matter expert on open banking and embedded finance.
About you
- Experience in B2B new business / enterprise sales in fintech, payments, SaaS or financial services.
- Strong track record of exceeding revenue targets in a consultative, solution‑led environment.
- Good understanding of open banking, APIs and/or payments (or ability to ramp quickly).
- Comfortable selling to C‑level and senior stakeholders in financial institutions and fintechs.
- Excellent communication, presentation and commercial negotiation skills.
- Self‑starter mindset, used to working in an international, fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
