- Excellent opportunity for a senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing Managed Service Provider supporting complex, multi-customer environments.
- Permanent, full‑time role based in Essex with a mix of on‑site and customer‑facing work.
- Well suited to a 3rd line engineer who enjoys ownership of escalations, project involvement, and working across varied infrastructure estates.
Responsibilities
You’ll operate as a senior escalation point within the support team, taking ownership of complex infrastructure issues across on‑prem and cloud environments. The role blends BAU escalations with project work, giving you exposure to a wide range of technologies including virtualisation, networking, and cyber security.
You’ll be working closely with 1st and 2nd line teams, providing guidance, resolving high‑level incidents, and contributing to continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Windows Server environments
- Proven background supporting Hyper‑V and VMware
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud‑based infrastructure
- Solid knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong understanding of storage technologies
- Networking experience across routing, switching, and firewalls
- Exposure to cyber security principles and best practices
- Experience working within an MSP environment
- Comfortable handling escalations and mentoring junior engineers
