Overview

We are recruiting a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner/ Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) to join the City Central Local Mental Health Team (LMHT). The team operates Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm and provides mental‑health services for adults across Nottinghamshire. This is a clinician role with training and support to develop specific therapeutic skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan and implement personalised recovery pathways for patients with severe mental illness.
  • Provide short‑term and longer‑term care plans and support patients and their families.
  • Work as a team player within a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team, maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manage complex cases in partnership with other agencies and within the wider service network.
  • Deliver high‑quality mental health services in a busy, supportive and community‑based environment.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Mental Health Practitioner or Community Mental Health Nurse.
  • Strong clinical confidence and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with other professionals.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and skill development.

Benefits & Conditions

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment: the cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced); this will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service, which carries an annual fee of £16.
