Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Padstow, Cornwall
Salary: £40,000
Shift: Monday – Friday (6 am–2 pm / 2 pm–10 pm)

This role offers long‑term stability and clear progression potential into a supervisory position within 1‑3 years. Working alongside a Mechanical Engineer on shift you will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault‑finding and planned preventive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency. Electrical systems include DC & AC motors, single and three‑phase systems, high‑voltage equipment, sensors, relays, PLCs, contactors and control panels. You will also interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical maintenance and planned preventive maintenance on production machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in motors, sensors, relays, PLCs and control panels.
- Interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineer to ensure full plant reliability.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification and hands‑on experience with motors, sensors, relays, PLCs and control panels.
- Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic skills and ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Hands‑on experience with pre‑planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast‑paced factory.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience within a UK manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to mechanical components such as bearings, belts, shafts, gearboxes and hydraulics.
