Project Supervisor / Trainee Project Supervisor
Salary: £30,237.65 – £36,179.43 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role
The role is available for immediate start, subject to a three‑month probation period (with a structured training plan provided for trainee applicants). In this role you will lead and support teams of experienced archaeologists and trainees on a diverse range of projects, primarily based from our offices in Lincoln or Preston with opportunities to work across a variety of sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support teams of archaeologists and trainees across projects.
- Manage day‑to‑day project activities, ensuring timely completion of post‑excavation analysis and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and colleagues, giving instructions and constructive feedback.
- Maintain and deliver high‑quality archaeological work.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Sound knowledge and understanding of British archaeology of all periods
- Experience of post‑excavation analysis and reporting (desirable for trainees)
- Enthusiasm and strong ability in archaeological field practices
- Willingness to work on or lead a team
- Courteous and professional manner
- Excellent computer literacy
- Experience of supervising staff (desirable for trainees)
- Attention to detail
- Positive outlook
- Driving licence
Desirable
- Relevant archaeological qualification
- Experience of GIS packages such as QGIS3
- CIfA membership
