Overview

Operations Manager – Warehouse & Logistics

£45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits

Full-Time, Permanent (Mon-Fri, 08:30 – 17:30)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and distribution facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations across goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, while maintaining high standards of health & safety, stock accuracy, and site security.

Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Operations
    • Manage daily warehouse activities including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
    • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment to meet customer expectations
    • Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency and space utilisation
    • Stock Control
    • Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts and stocktakes
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
    • Drive continuous improvement in stock management processes
  • Health & Safety
    • Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation and company policies
    • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections
    • Promote a strong safety culture across the team
  • Site Security
    • Act as key holder, responsible for opening and closing the site
    • Ensure security of premises, stock, and company assets
    • Respond to alarm callouts where required
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff
    • Provide training, guidance, and performance management
    • Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
  • Compliance & Continuous Improvement
    • Support and maintain ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
    • Ensure compliance with relevant UK healthcare standards
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practice

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse or operations management
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, logistics, and stock control
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • IT literate with experience using ERP or warehouse systems
  • Must live within 30 minutes of Tunbridge Wells (key holder requirement)

Desirable

  • Experience within a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals)
  • Familiarity with ISO standards
  • First Aid or Fire Marshal certification
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently
