The Solutions Architect is responsible for the definition, development, and governance of the Application Architecture domain and supporting the design of end-to-end solutions in a way which enhances services to our members, optimises operational efficiency and shapes the future strategy of the Enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver end-to-end solution architectures aligned to Technology, Digital & Data strategy, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and scalability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate business needs into robust technical solutions and roadmaps
- Contribute to architecture governance across Business, Application, Data, Technology, and Security domains
- Identify emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies to drive innovation and business value
- Develop clear solution designs, blueprints, and documentation, including application interactions and dependencies
- Provide input to business cases, including cost, impact, and resource requirements
- Support budget planning and ensure solutions are delivered within agreed financial and governance frameworks
- Ensure solutions are user/member-centric, delivering efficient, high-quality outcomes and value for money
- Manage design risks through effective governance, controls, and adherence to policies and regulatory requirements
- Identify, assess, and elevate risks and issues, ensuring timely mitigation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency, KPIs, and user experience
- Promote best practices in architecture, security, data protection, and compliance
- Foster inclusive collaboration and maintain strong stakeholder engagement across teams
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge, skills, and professional standards through continuous development
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within Solution Architecture.
- Experience with structured programme and project management approaches
- Extensive experience of working in relationship-based environments
- Experience of supporting projects in a matrix type structure
- Experience of delivering complex solutions within an Enterprise and/or experience of delivering integrated solutions involving third parties
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outcomes
- Confident communicator, able to engage, influence, and challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
- Resilient, proactive, and confident in driving and challenging change
