We are looking for a Bridges & Structures Civil Engineering apprentice to join our Glasgow office and work towards achieving a UK Level 6 qualification at the University of Strathclyde.
As a Bridges & Structures apprentice, you will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from initial options analysis through outline and detailed design, to potential on‑site support during the construction phase. Your responsibilities will include assisting with and planning bridge inspections, producing technical drawings using AutoCAD, and performing engineering calculations that progress in complexity as your knowledge develops through your studies. You will collaborate with various internal disciplines, as well as external stakeholders, clients, and contractors. Learning primarily through work shadowing and mentorship from experienced colleagues, you will develop your engineering judgment and gradually assume greater responsibility. The role offers a varied mix of primarily office‑based work and days spent on inspections and site duties.
Application deadline: Apply before 5th January 2026. Applications after this date may still be considered if the role remains open, but the first assessment window will close on that date.
As a disability confident employer, we will interview disabled candidates who best meet the criteria. We welcome applications from candidates who are seeking flexible working and from those who may not meet all the listed requirements for a role.
