In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK; our payments infrastructure, purpose‑built for in‑person commerce, is game changing.
The Role
As Lead Product Manager for Payments Experience, you will define the strategy across devices, on‑device payments and emerging form factors, manage the lifecycle of our devices, evolve APIs/SDKs, and shape new experiences like Tap to Pay on iPhone and Dojo SoftPOS. This highly visible role spearheads projects for senior leaders, champions customer experience while balancing commercial impact and technical resilience, aligns squads and stakeholders around a common vision, and manages and develops a growing product team.
What You Will Do
- Own the Payments Experience domain roadmap: Define and drive the strategy across four squads, ensuring initiatives deliver high business, customer, and technology value.
- Drive complex initiatives: Facilitate technical, cross‑functional projects from discovery through to execution, balancing feasibility, impact, and risk.
- Coach and grow a product team: Manage two Product managers, empowering them while focusing on strategy.
- Be the voice of the customer: Ensure merchant needs and experiences are central to every product decision, building trust through seamless, reliable solutions.
- Partner deeply with engineering: Collaborate closely with engineering leads to shape architecture and execution and deliver resilient, scalable products together.
- Align stakeholders: Act as the connective tissue across squads, leadership, and other stakeholders, navigating priorities and trade‑offs with clarity and influence.
- Own vendor and platform strategy: Manage device suppliers (e.g., PAX) and evaluate alternatives where they add speed, safety, or differentiation.
- Oversee lifecycle and fleet: Guide device provisioning, telemetry, remote updates, repairs, and end‑of‑life.
- Deliver measurable outcomes: Ensure the domain's work translates into tangible improvements for customers, stronger economics for Dojo, and more scalable operations.
What You Will Bring
- Proven product leadership: 5+ years of experience in product management, owning strategy and delivery across complex domains, including shipping physical products.
- People leadership: Experience managing individual contributors, coaching, hiring, and nurturing a high‑performing team.
- Technical depth: Experienced in driving technically complex initiatives, partnering with engineering to shape scalable solutions.
- Payments experience: Experience in payments or regulated, mission‑critical domains; familiarity with EMV, PCI, vendor management, and Android class devices preferred.
- Customer obsession: Deep understanding of customer needs and balancing them with business and technical priorities.
- Strategic and operational range: Able to set domain‑level direction and unblock squads on critical details.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: Influence without authority, aligning diverse stakeholders and squads around shared goals.
- Commercial acumen: Connect product strategy to business outcomes, making smart trade‑offs that maximise impact.
- Clear communicator: Create clarity in complexity, ensuring teams and stakeholders are aligned and moving in the same direction.
