Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Healix Group, Healix House, Esher Green

Healix International is continuing its cloud‑first journey, modernising platforms and strengthening operational resilience. We’re looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to support the design, delivery, and ongoing operation of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across our Azure and AWS environments.

In this role, you’ll combine strong hands‑on engineering capability with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud‑native best practices to deliver reliable and compliant platforms. You’ll work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and risk teams, playing a key role in Healix’s cloud adoption and platform modernisation initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys building robust platforms, improving automation, and mentoring others while keeping security and resilience front of mind. As we are expecting a high volume of applications, the advert may be closed before the date shown.

What you’ll be doing

Cloud platform engineering

  • Build and operate cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, covering IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, and storage
  • Design highly available and resilient architectures aligned to DR and business continuity requirements
  • Drive standardised cloud patterns across environments to eliminate configuration drift
  • Build reusable Terraform modules and environment structures in line with internal IaC best practices
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments using GitHub
  • Embed automated compliance checks, validation, linting, formatting, and IaC security scanning
  • Enable automated provisioning, teardown, and promotion of cloud environments

Operational cloud management

  • Troubleshoot cloud issues across networking, identity, compute, storage, and service integrations
  • Ensure patching, maintenance, cost optimisation, and performance tuning are applied consistently
  • Integrate monitoring, alerting, observability dashboards, and incident response runbooks (Azure Monitor, App Insights, New Relic)
  • Ensure all infrastructure changes are auditable and follow change management processes
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders during incidents and operational issues
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve service‑related issues
  • Work closely with development teams to support releases into Production

Project delivery

  • Lead and deliver infrastructure‑focused projects, including upgrades, migrations, and platform deployments
  • Work with third‑party vendors to ensure solutions are delivered successfully
  • Produce clear documentation covering infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures

Security and compliance

  • Implement security controls to safeguard infrastructure platforms and data
  • Support audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risk
  • Work with the Risk team to meet Information Security and Privacy requirements and certifications
  • Ensure alignment with organisational policies and industry best practice

Continuous improvement & collaboration

  • Review and continuously improve infrastructure systems, processes, and tooling
  • Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and cloud best practices
  • Work collaboratively across IT teams to design and deliver cloud capabilities
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Mentor engineers in cloud tooling, automation, IaC, and reusable patterns

Required Criteria

  • Proven cloud infrastructure experience – hands‑on delivery and operation of scalable platforms in Azure and/or AWS
  • Infrastructure as Code & automation expertise – strong experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and repeatable environments
  • Operational engineering capability – confident troubleshooting across networking, identity, compute, storage, and platform services
  • Security‑first mindset – experience building and operating compliant, resilient, and well‑governed cloud infrastructure

Desired Criteria

  • Containerisation & platform tooling exposure – Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment tooling
  • Broad infrastructure background – experience modernising on‑prem environments to cloud‑native architectures
  • Cloud certifications – Azure and/or AWS administration, IaC or containerisation accreditation

Benefits

We offer UK employee healthcare benefits, and travel, medical and security assistance across the globe.
