Licensure

Full GMC registration and a licence to practice is essential for this role. Candidates without GMC registration at the time of shortlisting will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care across trauma and elective orthopaedic services
• Participate in outpatient clinics, theatre lists, ward rounds and on‑call rotas
• Contribute to acute trauma management and peri‑operative care
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, teaching and service development activities
• Uphold and demonstrate the Trust values of Care, Communicate, Collaborate and Contribute

Subspecialty Exposure

• Lower limb arthroplasty
• Soft tissue knee surgery
• Upper limb surgery
• Hand and wrist surgery
• Spinal surgery
• Paediatric orthopaedics
• Acute trauma management

Training & Development

This role has a clearly defined educational structure to support progression toward specialist registration.

• Maintain an up‑to‑date portfolio using the ISCP platform (or equivalent system)
• Engage in regular workplace‑based assessments
• Demonstrate reflective practice and continuous professional development
