Senior Compliance and Enforcement Officer (Planning) – Maternity Cover
Location: Hampshire (Hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 days in office)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and customer-focused professional to join a Compliance and Enforcement Team on a maternity cover basis. In this senior role, you will support the delivery of an effective compliance and enforcement service, ensuring that development activities adhere to approved plans under the Planning Acts. Your responsibilities will include managing complex investigations into reported breaches of planning control, as well as handling appeals arising from enforcement actions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in town planning and planning enforcement to contribute to a forward-thinking team in a dynamic local authority environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and manage complex compliance and enforcement cases related to unauthorised developments.
- Ensure development activities comply with approved plans and planning regulations.
- Handle appeals and provide robust evidence to support enforcement decisions.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service.
- Maintain clear communication and negotiation with stakeholders, including developers, residents, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in town planning and planning enforcement.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex caseloads.
