Role Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide highly specialised clinical interventions and evidence‑based care in the designated inpatient setting.
- Deliver high‑standard nursing care in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, service users and families.
- Act as the primary nurse for assessment of needs and planning of patient care.
- Support patients with complex and sometimes challenging behaviours to improve their quality of life with dignity and respect.
- Ensure a high‑quality service that addresses physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs of patients and carers.
- Adopt a flexible approach to duty hours to meet service needs throughout the shift.
- Take charge of a designated clinical area and deputise as appropriate.
- Represent the clinical team at multidisciplinary meetings and clinical reviews of patient care.
- Contribute to maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors throughout duty.
- Participate in daily board rounds to discuss patient needs and manage escalations.
- Act as the Primary Nurse for the duration of each shift.
- Ensure clinical practice is evidence‑based, consistent with NICE guidelines and Trust policies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and facilitate effective handovers and communication.
- Provide therapeutic interventions for patients with complex mental health needs in an acute hospital environment.
