Staff Nurse – Radiology

We are looking for an individual who wishes to expand their knowledge and skills within the Radiology department at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
Experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Applicants are expected to maintain high standards of care for all patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
You will work within an experienced and supportive team, learning new skills through complete training, an induction programme, study days, conferences, and simulation training.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8‑6 pm, a 4‑day week if full time. No nights, weekends, or on‑call duties.
Main duties of the job
Supervised care of patients undergoing various interventional radiological procedures within Interventional Radiology, CT, and Ultrasound – angioplasty, embolisation, biopsies, drainage. Pre‑assessment and day‑case recovery support.
Continuous learning and development of clinical skills: patient assessment pre and post procedure, intra‑and post‑operative care, sedation monitoring, scrub nursing.
Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team of Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, and Radiographic assistants.
Flexible working requests will be considered.
Qualifications
- Qualified as an NMC‑registered nurse.
- ESOL Level 2 or equivalent if English is not first language.
- Literacy Level 2 or equivalent.
- Additional relevant specialist training.
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience in an acute healthcare environment.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience working in interventional procedures.
- Theatre experience.
- Experience of recovery.
Skills and Abilities
- Competence in office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Awareness of NHS coding and budgets.
- Ability to work in a team to support colleagues.
