Overview
The Cancer Psychological Service for Kent and Medway (CPSKM) is a newly established specialist level 4 psycho‑oncology service delivered by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This Band 7 post is designed for a clinical psychologist or counselling psychologist (including those newly qualified and able to start in May 2026) who is motivated, passionate and excited to contribute to a developing, innovative and highly committed service within the NHS.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist psychological assessment and interventions for people with a cancer diagnosis and their families.
- Provide teaching and supervision to staff and trainees.
- Liaise regularly with multi‑disciplinary cancer teams.
- Work collaboratively with the psycho‑oncology team to continue developing and expanding the service across the region, with a focus on Medway Maritime Hospital.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified clinical psychologist or counselling psychologist; newly qualified candidates acceptable if able to commence in May 2026.
- Strong motivation, passion, and enthusiasm for psycho‑oncology and teamwork.
- Robust understanding of psychological assessment and intervention within oncology settings.
- Successful completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check at Enhanced Level is required.
