Are you a passionate Nurse Colposcopist looking for your next opportunity? If so we want to hear from you! We are looking for an experienced nurse colposcopist who is passionate about service delivery and patient experience.
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner in colposcopy, possessing in‑depth knowledge of national and local colposcopy/screening policies and guidelines. They will provide specialist advice, assess and diagnose pre‑cancerous or cancerous changes on the cervix, give appropriate treatment, and coordinate follow‑up care. The post holder will also supervise qualified and unqualified staff, maintain and improve the quality of care for patients referred to colposcopy in line with the NHS Cervical Screening Programme guidelines, and manage the delivery of a colposcopy unit in conjunction with the lead consultant.
The post holder will support, manage, develop, and represent the views of specialist nurse colposcopists, colposcopy nurses, and other support staff within the unit. They will lead and contribute to the overall standards and quality of service provision, acting as a positive role model and treating all staff, visitors and service users with courtesy. They will work with the lead consultant colposcopist and the CSPL to ensure efficient service delivery in compliance with regional standards.
The post holder will have responsibility for a caseload of patients/service‑users and will deliver an effective, high‑quality, patient‑focused service that is sensitive to the needs of users and providers. They will provide clinical, social, and psychological support, using excellent communication skills, education and health promotion to enable patients to reach optimal independence and health.
The post holder will deliver advanced nursing skills within complex care pathways, provide highly specialist advice and support to the defined caseload and other health care providers, and undertake total management of women referred to the service, including full history, ordering and interpreting investigations, conducting examination and colposcopy, and formulating a management plan.
