A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and self-driven Veterinary Surgeon to join a brand-new independent small animal practice in Redcar, North Yorkshire. The practice has been built from the ground up, offering genuine input into its growth and development. With full clinical freedom, a supportive team, and the autonomy to manage your own caseload, this role allows you to make a lasting impact on both clients and the local community.

The Practice

Founded in 2025 by two highly experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses, this practice brings independent veterinary care back to Redcar following the closure of a local clinic. After extensive renovation and modernisation, the practice opened in October 2025, welcoming new clients and their pets to a warm, community-focused environment. The team includes dedicated vets, skilled veterinary nurses, and friendly receptionists — each bringing expertise to provide the best in small animal care.

The Role

This position would ideally suit a confident and capable Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of cases. Sole-charge experience is beneficial, though the team environment provides support. There is an opportunity to mentor junior vets or lead a small team. The successful candidate will have access to keyhole surgery facilities at the practice’s sister site, offering a chance to further develop surgical expertise.

Location

Nestled on the picturesque North Yorkshire coast, Redcar offers seaside charm and modern living with sandy beaches, vibrant seafront, and a welcoming community.

The Rota

• 40 hours per week across 4 days (8:30am–6:30pm)
• Paid, designated breaks
• No out-of-hours, on-call, or Bank Holiday work
