Overview

Join our well established Liaison Psychiatry team, dedicated to creating effective care plans and comprehensive clinical strategies that deliver exceptional care for people with acute mental health needs.

We welcome applications from experienced senior psychiatry practitioners capable of building and supporting teams, facilitating timely interventions, and providing specialist assessment to enhance outcomes and recovery for adults aged 18 and older.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced or registered mental health nurse, occupational therapist, or social worker with post‑registration experience in mental health, completed practice supervision, a degree‑level education, and either holding or pursuing a level 7 Masters qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Accept referrals of patients aged eighteen years and over for assessment, treatment and coordination with other relevant services.
  • Work in collaboration with all members of the Liaison Psychiatry Service and involved agencies.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload of patients with co‑morbid physical and mental illness.
  • Provide specialist clinical input, liaison, consultancy and education to colleagues.
  • Develop and provide evidence‑based treatment plans for identified patients, in collaboration with the patient and referrer.
  • Formulate, implement and evaluate treatment programmes.
  • Promote the well‑being and mental health of people by providing relevant information and advice to patients, their families and supporting agencies.
  • Provide advice and support on clinical management and assessment of risk.
  • Provide advice on the management of patients subject to the MHA and MCA.

Qualifications

  • Experienced or registered mental health nurse, occupational therapist or social worker.
  • Post‑registration experience in mental health settings.
  • Completed practice supervision.
  • Degree‑level education.
  • Level 7 Masters qualification or actively working towards it.
