Technical Sales Engineer

Vital Energi is looking for a proactive, customer‑focused Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing Head Office team in Blackburn. In this role, you will be a key commercial interface between our clients and the HIU product offering, translating customer needs into compelling technical solutions and supporting the sales cycle from enquiry to order.

Key Accountabilities

  • Interpret customer requirements to provide suitable, cost‑effective, technically feasible HIU solutions
  • Carry out necessary calculations and selections to prepare HIU quotations that meet the customers’ and project teams’ requirements
  • Serve as the point of contact for any HIU‑related queries from consultants, contractors, plumbers, homeowners and tenants
  • Prepare HIU documentation such as works orders, technical submissions, datasheets, installation guides, commissioning procedures and O&M manuals
  • Assist with design and development of the company’s HIU offering to meet current and future market requirements
  • Collaborate with HIU manufacturers to improve product price, function and appearance
  • Provide quotations for replacement HIU spare parts and coordinate dispatch as necessary
  • Develop and maintain a suitable documentation library
  • Attend, address and respond to external queries promptly to maximise sales opportunities and enhance the company’s reputation with existing and potential clients
  • Develop and share knowledge of other industry HIU offerings
  • Create effective working processes to support the HIU function

Other Duties

  • Control stock of HIU components to fulfil projected orders for spare parts and complete HIUs, assisting with stock takes where necessary
  • Liaise with HIU/component manufacturers to ensure orders are delivered in accordance with customers’ and project teams’ expectations
  • Process deliveries of components and HIUs

Qualifications

  • HNC level or higher in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microsoft Dynamics desirable
  • Knowledge of HIUs, heating & air‑conditioning systems and/or energy centre processes advantageous
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Accurate and efficient data input
