About the Role

As a Trainee Kitchensafe Engineer, you will be trained to install, maintain, and service Kitchensafe fire safety systems for our clients across the UK. This is an entry‑level opportunity with full training provided, ideal for someone looking to start a long‑term career in fire safety engineering.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and gradually build the skills and confidence needed to carry out work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of Kitchensafe systems under supervision
  • Learn how to carry out basic fault finding and diagnostics, with full training and support
  • Support engineers during site visits and installations
  • Participate in a 1-in-4 call‑out rota, ensuring prompt and reliable service
  • Communicate professionally with on‑site teams, concierges, and building management
  • Accurately record work completed using a PDA system (training provided)
  • Travel to sites across the UK with support and planning from the team
  • Be flexible to stay away from home occasionally, with accommodation and expenses covered

Who We’re Looking For

  • Background in a maintenance, facilities, construction, electrical, mechanical, or engineering environment, with experience using tools and attending site visits
  • Comfortable working in live environments and following site rules, permits, and safety procedures
  • Basic knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems is advantageous but not essential – full training will be provided
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail when assisting with installations, servicing, and inspections
  • Takes pride in completing work to a high standard and following procedures correctly
  • Brings a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn a new technical skill set
  • Works in a structured and methodical manner, able to follow instructions and technical guidance
  • Capable of managing workload effectively, including travelling between sites and meeting scheduled deadlines
  • Confident and professional when dealing with customers, concierge teams, and site management
  • Able to work both independently (once trained) and as part of a supportive engineering team
  • Uses initiative and common sense when solving problems or escalating issues appropriately
  • Remains calm, professional, and safety‑focused in pressurised or unfamiliar environments
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with engineers, supervisors, and customers
