As part of Seneca Group’s continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Development Manager based in London. This role will contribute to the delivery of complex projects, supporting strong client relationships and play an important part in the ongoing development of the business.

The Role:

The Development / Project Manager serves as the day-to-day lead for one or more real estate development projects, working alongside Associate Directors as well as Directors.

This role integrates real estate development management, advisory skills and project management responsibilities.

The Development / Project Manager is responsible for managing scope, programme, budget, quality, and risk, while coordinating internal teams, consultants, and contractors. The role supports senior leadership in client relationships, decision-making, and overall project strategy, and represents Seneca Group’s commitment to excellence and value creation for world-class clients.

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of a workstream on a large, multi-million pound real estate development projects, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team including Associate Director and Directors.
  • Manage execution of approved development strategies, budgets, programmes, and delivery plans.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage detailed project programmes and development budgets, including forecasting and cash flow tracking.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates, value engineering options, and contractor proposals.
  • Manage design teams, including architects, engineers, and specialty consultants. Motivated to understand the technical complexities of the project to effectively manage consultants.
  • Negotiate consultant and construction contracts (JCT), in coordination with the Associate Directors and Directors.
  • Familiar with JCT contracts, and able to provide construction management oversight, including cost, programmes, quality, and risk control.
  • Able to serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the client, supporting the Associate Directors in overall client leadership, strategic communication, and decision-making.
  • Facilitate and lead day-to-day project meetings with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders, escalating key decisions, risks, and issues to senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Promote opportunities for repeat business through effective project delivery, communication, relationship management, and collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project-level risks, conflicts, and issues.
  • The Development Manager reports to the Associate Directors and Directors and collaborates closely with senior leadership to align project execution with client objectives and firm strategy.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates, value engineering options, and contractor proposals.
  • Achieve client objectives by aligning project execution with development goals.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong ability to compile, analyse, interpret, and integrate complex projects and development information.
  • Ability to independently manage projects in dynamic or compressed timeframes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills in client-facing environments.
  • High level of integrity and professional judgement.
  • Ability to operate effectively in compressed timeframes.
  • Strong organizational and forward-planning skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams toward shared goals.
  • Proven experience monitoring performance metrics and adjusting strategies as needed.
