Records Services Team Manager
We are looking for a highly motivated, capable and proactive individual to develop and motivate the team leaders and the service delivery team within the Health Records Department.
This is a very busy and challenging role, requiring excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to analyse and prioritise workflow patterns and manage staff while working flexibly in an environment where demands and priorities change quickly.
Main duties of the job
- Day‑to‑day management of the teams, including HR issues such as recruitment, sickness management, and ensuring compliance with staff policies.
- Motivation of teams and delivery of a comprehensive training and maintenance package to enable high quality service.
- Assessment of service redesign, training needs and the implementation of best practice processes.
- Support to the Records Services Operations Manager and monitoring of team performance against targets and service‑level agreements.
- Implementation and maintenance of administration systems and procedures that align with trust policies.
- Coordination across Trust sites to identify and assist with service improvement and new process implementation.
- Improving synergy and efficiency across all Trust sites, liaising across sites and supporting improvement work streams.
Qualifications and experience
- At least 3 years administrative experience, including HR aspects within teams.
- Experience of meeting, measuring, monitoring, reviewing and reporting on key targets.
- Experience of working to a high standard in a customer service environment.
- Experience of working with Microsoft packages.
- At least 1 year of staff management experience.
- Good written and spoken English, and at least 2 years working in operational services in the NHS.
Education and training
- English & Maths at grade C or above.
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.
- Good written and spoken English.
Skills and attributes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels, including Consultant medical staff.
Aptitude and personal qualities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines and requirements.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and that of others as required.
