If so, one of the UK’s fastest-growing specialist distributors of Civils and Drainage products is undergoing an exciting period of expansion and is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to join their team with responsibility for the East Midlands region.
The Company
Our client is a well-established Independent Builders’ Merchant specialising in the supply of Heavyside building and civil engineering materials to builders and civil engineering contractors.
The business has grown into a £15m+ turnover operation with a strong regional presence across the East Midlands and North of England, while also supporting projects nationwide. A modern in-house fleet of crane-equipped vehicles enables flexible, reliable and often next-day delivery to customer sites.

The Individual
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key customers including Groundworkers, Civil Engineers and Contractors within the East Midlands region.
You will be required to be proactive in seeking new business opportunities as well as managing relationships with your customers and providing technical, product and sales support with a view to gaining product usage.
The role will be fully remote with occasional travel to the Depot.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Open and grow new accounts meeting all customer requirements.
- Always look for new opportunities to establish new relationships with prospective customers
- Maintain growth of current accounts by being the main point of contact
- Introduce key products to new and existing customers.
- Offer project support from beginning through to completion
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of current and new suppliers and their products
- Conduct market research and analyse competitor activity
- Attend regular sales meetings
- Negotiable basic salary (depending on experience)
