About the role
A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Data Coordinator to work within the Royal Marsden Gastro‑Intestinal & Lymphoma Clinical Trials Unit. The role supports Trial Managers and the Clinical Data Manager to ensure timely data entry by participating sites, conduct data monitoring, raise queries, and prepare and clean data prior to management oversight committees, interim analyses, and final reports. This short‑term project is part of a large, multi‑centre Royal Marsden sponsored study and may expand to further data coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Clinical Data Manager in data management for all Royal Marsden sponsored, investigator‑led trials running through the Gastro‑Intestinal & Lymphoma Unit, communicating proactively with the trial team to meet data management milestones for data capture, cleaning, and preparation of reports for trial oversight committees.
- Assist the Clinical Data Manager with the development of Case Report Forms (CRFs) and the creation of trial‑specific databases in MACRO, including validation check specification and testing of each database program.
- Review clinical trial data, ensuring ongoing data cleaning is managed effectively and efficiently, and highlight any quality‑related issues to the Clinical Data Manager and Trial Manager.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and metrics for trial‑specific meetings and oversight committees.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree level education in a scientific discipline.
- Significant experience in clinical data entry, with an in‑depth understanding of Good Clinical Practice, Data Protection, and Research Governance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while adhering to regulatory requirements and Trust Standard Operating Procedures.
- Pro‑active, self‑motivated, well‑organised, and able to work effectively within a collaborative, high‑pressure research environment.
Location and Work Flexibility
The post is based at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Surrey, with flexibility required to work in our London offices as necessary.
