About QROS

QROS manufacture the innovative QED used for rapid environmental testing. Our QED Hydrocarbon Analyser enables fast and reliable confirmatory identification and quantification of petroleum hydrocarbons and related contaminants, both on-site and in the laboratory.

Our systems are used by environmental consultants, waste management operators, infrastructure organisations and regulatory bodies across the UK and internationally. Our technology allows users to obtain analytical results within minutes, helping projects make faster decisions and reduce investigation and remediation costs.

As a small specialist company, we offer a varied role where individuals can make a meaningful contribution across several areas of the business.

The Role

This is a varied role combining business development, technical support, customer demonstrations and training.

The successful candidate will be required to spend at least 1 day in our office in Pewsey but will regularly travel across the UK to demonstrate our analysers and train customers. With the opportunity for overseas travel when the need arises. While in the office, the role will involve some servicing of returned instruments and supporting the Managing Director in product development.

Because we are a small specialist company, this role offers a wide variety of work. The successful candidate will be involved in many aspects of the business and should be comfortable working independently, taking initiative and solving problems as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and business development

  • Identify and contact potential customers within the environmental and contaminated land sectors
  • Carry out proactive outreach to introduce QROS technology and arrange demonstrations
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for further equipment or training

Customer demonstrations and training

  • Deliver demonstrations of QROS analysers to potential customers across the UK
  • Provide training to new and existing users on correct operation of the equipment
  • Support customers in understanding how on‑site analysis can benefit their projects

Instrument servicing and technical support

  • Carry out annual servicing and calibration of QED analysers returned by customers
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with instruments
  • Assist with repair, maintenance and testing of analysers prior to dispatchProvide technical guidance and support to customers when required

Office‑based activities

  • Prepare demonstration equipment and training materials
  • Respond to customer enquiries and technical questions
  • Assist with documentation and general customer support activities

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Technically minded and practical with equipment
  • Comfortable interacting with customers and delivering demonstrations
  • A confident problem‑solver who can diagnose issues and identify practical solutions
  • Self‑motivated and able to manage their own workload
  • Comfortable working in a small company environment where initiative is valued
  • Enjoys practical, hands‑on work with technical equipment
  • Background in chemistry or environmental science
  • Experience with analytical instruments or environmental monitoring equipment
  • Experience in contaminated land, waste management or environmental consultancy
  • Experience servicing, calibrating or maintaining technical equipment
  • Experience in business development or desire to move into a business development role

Travel Requirements

  • The role requires regular travel across the UK to visit customers.
  • Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
  • Business mileage will be reimbursed upon submission of a mileage claim form.
  • Employees using their own vehicle for work travel must ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, insured for business use and has a valid MOT where required.
