We are currently partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to appoint a Senior Manager within Business Oversight Compliance, supporting its investment management division.
This is a senior, high-impact role offering the opportunity to provide independent oversight and constructive challenge across a broad range of activities, including portfolio management, ESG integration, product governance, and cross-border distribution.
The successful candidate will operate as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory expectations, internal standards, and best-in-class governance and stewardship principles.
The position requires a commercially minded compliance professional who can identify emerging risk themes, drive remediation initiatives, and influence outcomes at senior governance forums, while acting as a subject matter expert in investment management compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent compliance oversight and challenge across investment management activities
- Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory obligations and internal governance frameworks
- Support ESG-related initiatives, product governance processes, and cross-border distribution activities
- Identify, assess, and escalate key compliance risks, ensuring appropriate remediation actions are implemented
- Contribute to senior governance forums, influencing decision-making and promoting strong conduct standards
- Prepare high-quality written materials, including board-level papers and regulatory documentation
Required Experience & Skills:
- Significant experience within Compliance, Legal, or Risk in an investment management, asset management, or financial markets environment
- Strong technical understanding of investment products, portfolio management, derivatives, and fund structures
- Deep knowledge of ESG regulatory frameworks (e.g. SFDR, SDR, and sustainability-related disclosures)
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively within complex governance structures
- Strong judgment with the ability to balance regulatory requirements alongside commercial priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing senior-level documentation
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience supporting cross-border marketing governance across EMEA and/or APAC
- Exposure to stewardship reporting or sustainable finance governance frameworks
- Familiarity with product governance processes and approval frameworks
- Understanding of investment management operating models and execution structures
