Role – Project Manager

Location – Coventry

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who thrives on collaboration, communicates effortlessly with stakeholders, and is passionate about delivering high‑quality outcomes that meet contractual, legislative and business goals.

In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the central point of coordination for multiple projects (most commonly delivered under NEC3 contracts) ensuring effective planning, risk management, and commercial reporting. What you’ll be doing:

Lead Projects with Confidence

  • Take responsibility for assigned projects using NEC3 (or approved variants), ensuring full compliance with customer, contractual, commercial and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and manage detailed Project Charters to ensure all objectives and standards are delivered.

Plan, Organise and Drive Delivery

  • Define project scope, standards and Key Measures of Performance.
  • Produce robust time and cost estimates; manage budgets and reporting.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including quality, risk and scheduling using Microsoft Project Gantt charts.
  • Coordinate activities, resources and timelines to successfully meet milestones and key dates.

Engage Stakeholders Effectively

  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicating in a clear, professional and customer‑focused manner.
  • Build strong working partnerships, ensuring all commitments are met and high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.

Champion Best Practice & Continuous Improvement

  • Strengthen in‑house knowledge of products and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and eliminate non‑value‑added activities.
  • Promote excellent working practices in areas such as health & safety, environmental compliance, information security and quality management.

Represent the Business

  • Travel to customer sites as required, consistently demonstrating our company’s Culture and Values.
  • Maintain exemplary standards of documentation, reporting and record keeping.

About you:

  • Experience in Project Management or Project Engineering.
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical design capability.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness in a project‑related environment.
  • Hands‑on experience in: Project management, Change management, Budget management, Procurement, Collaborative/partnership working.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Educated to HNC level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Excellent written communication; able to produce professional, detailed documentation.
  • Skilled in stakeholder consultation, negotiation and influencing.
  • Strong organisational skills; able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Positive, flexible and collaborative attitude.
  • Dedication to personal development and continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to Respect at Work, including diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities.

Desirable:

  • Engineering technical background.
  • Experience within the UK Municipal Water Sector.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts.
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
  • Passion for organisational change and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using digital tools for project portfolio tracking and planning.
