L3 Resource Deployment Manager – UKI Assurance, Audit (North Cluster)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Assurance UKI Resource Management team to support one of our teams as a Resource Manager.
The opportunity
This is a partnering role where you will help influence and manage the supply, demand and deployment of approximately fifty client servers. You will manage a small team responsible for workforce planning such as mix of skills, capabilities, contingent workers, offshore solutions, future workforce operating models and workforce plans to realise the ambitions of our service line.
You will use a commercial mindset to understand and monitor business performance and the issues and challenges facing the practice. Your focus will be working closely with senior stakeholders to meet financial and non-financial objectives, overseeing and ensuring that resource requirements for our engagement teams are met, optimising utilisation, improving performance and ensuring operational excellence is maintained at all times. This is in conjunction with ensuring our people are provided with the best experiences to drive their careers.
You’ll build networks and work closely with stakeholders across Core Business Services and within your Service Line (e.g. Operations/Talent). You’ll also support in various initiatives such as rollout of new technologies (including Robotics & Process Automation) and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in relation to deploying engagement teams.
Key responsibilities
Deployment
- Delivering end-to-end deployment solutions to the client-facing business.
- First point of contact for the Sub Service lines Leadership team managing all aspects of supply, demand and deployment.
- Monitor and elevate resource availability and work proactively with colleagues from across the Service Line, wider UKI/FS to ensure utilisation is maximised.
- Analyse pipeline and proactively engage with pursuit team to understand proposed resource model, ensuring requirements are known and can be met.
Headcount Management
- Supporting headcount management and capacity planning, optimising utilisation and chargeability of our client-facing workforce.
- Supporting workforce planning to ensure long-term headcount goals are met and aligned with UKI.
Experience Management
- Work with client-facing staff to understand their skills and experiences for appropriate alignment to engagements.
- Liaise with the business, counsellors and HR to keep abreast of development needs of all individuals in the group to ensure planning is aligned.
Business Impact
- Provide the Leadership team with insights on business performance and discuss trends, interventions and actions to improve results.
- Forecast financial performance and utilisation levels on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis using Retain and EY Financial Reporting tools.
- Prepare, analyse and present Management Information to senior stakeholders on budget vs. actual, headcount, deployment and wider operational excellence metrics such as utilisation, Retain accuracy and timesheets.
- Understand and communicate key business developments that may affect upcoming performance through regular updates with key stakeholders, including client-serving leadership.
- Produce and maintain various ad hoc and regular Management Information reports, interpreting and acting on results.

To qualify for the role you must have
- Proven experience within Resource Management, or workforce management background, ideally within a professional services environment.
Ideally you’ll also have
- University degree or equivalent years of experience.
