Location: Working across the Group – Wakefield, Castleford and Selby Colleges

Salary: £36,474 to £38,690 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Weeks: 52 weeks per year

Are you ready to take the next step in your Health and Safety career? We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Deputy Health and Safety Manager to join our Estates team to help ensure a safe, compliant and positive environment for all staff, students and visitors across our campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, testing and maintenance of the Group’s Incident Management and Business Continuity plans.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of the annual programme of Health and Safety training for the Group (e.g., Fire Safety, Manual Handling, and DSE Assessments).
  • Monitor national security alerts and guidance, ensuring the Group remains responsive.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Health and Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Assist in managing RIDDOR reporting and liaising with HSE/EHO as required.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in Maths and English A*–C/9–4 or equivalent.
  • Membership of IOSH or actively working towards it.
  • Full clean UK driving licence (travel between sites will be required).
  • First Aid at Work qualification, or willingness to achieve.
  • ISO9001 – Internal Auditor, or willingness to achieve.
