Role: Trainee Financial Paraplanner
Type: Full time (Part-time may be considered).
Location: Hybrid. Remote working 2-3 days and West Bridgford office 1-2 days a week.
Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Qualifications: Diploma in Financial Planning would be an advantage.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
Closing date: 30th April 2026.
About you
This role is designed for those who are already working as a Paraplanner or a Trainee Financial Planner role, and want to gather more experience with more complex financial planning to progress your career.
To thrive in this role and embody our values, you’ll need:
A problem-solving mindset: For example, you notice clients often ask the same questions when changing their retirement income and put together a FAQ to proactively send them.
Pioneering spirit: For example, you put yourself forward to join an initiative to test a new AI solution.
Growth mindset: For example, you come across a less-common area of planning and arrange learning sessions so you can boost your knowledge and share it with others.
Care and attention to detail: For example, you notice standard cashflow forecasting assumptions need tailoring to suit a client’s circumstances and suggest an alternate approach.
Responsibilities
Holistic financial plans: Preparing comprehensive goals-based financial plans that reflect each client’s circumstances. Learning to confidently present them to clients. Detailed and visually engaging reports include investment analysis, income and expenditure planning, tax planning, contingency planning and legacy planning.
Lifetime cashflow modelling: Building detailed lifetime cashflow models and ‘what if’ scenarios to demonstrate the impact of changes including spending more, suffering a market crash, needing care or passing away. Learning to confidently present models to clients and make live alterations.
Prepare suitability reports: Using our comprehensive templates, produce clear and client-friendly reports to explain our recommendations and assist with questions arising from clients.
Financial product and investment research: Using a suite of research tools alongside our centralised due diligence, research the appropriate solutions for clients.
Collaboration: Working closely with a pod of 2-3 Financial Planners, Paraplanners and Administrators, creating financial plans and agreeing strategies together. Attending meetings with clients and potential clients alongside Financial Planner mentors.
