WING BUILD PROCESS ENGINEER

  • 9-Month Contract
  • £32.13 per hour via Umbrella
  • On-site in Broughton (35 hours per week)
  • BPSS Clearance Required

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client operates within a highly advanced aerospace manufacturing environment, delivering complex engineering solutions across large-scale programmes. They are seeking a Process Engineer to support industrialisation activities, ensuring manufacturing requirements are embedded into product design from the outset.

THE PROCESS ENGINEER ROLE

As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and delivering manufacturing build processes aligned with engineering and industrial architecture. You will ensure industrial requirements are considered throughout the design lifecycle, supporting efficient production in line with cost and lead-time objectives.

You will be responsible for creating industrial dossiers and build processes through to handover, influencing product design, and supporting the development of manufacturing systems using modern digital tools such as 3DX.

You will work closely with multi-functional teams to resolve technical challenges, support tooling packages, and ensure manufacturing readiness of new technical solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain documented industrial dossiers and build processes
  • Influence product design and derive manufacturing process instructions
  • Support and approve Design Data Sets (DDS) from a manufacturing perspective
  • Drive manufacturing maturity for new technical solutions
  • Support development and optimisation of manufacturing systems
  • Produce Component Delivery Specifications (CDS)
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve technical issues
  • Support manufacturing engineering inputs into tender activities, including tooling packages

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of wing manufacturing and aerospace production processes
  • Strong engineering fundamentals including drawing interrogation and technical documentation
  • Understanding of product development and design processes
  • Experience working within manufacturing or production engineering environments
  • Awareness of health and safety standards and regulations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-functional teams
  • Project management awareness or experience
