Overview
Mercor, a San Francisco–based platform connecting elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs, is hiring a Voice Actor to support its audio data annotation projects. This is a remote, contract-based opportunity open to UK-based applicants, ideal for individuals with excellent verbal communication skills and a passion for voice work. You’ll collaborate with AI researchers to produce high-quality spoken descriptions that help train next-generation AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate clear, natural-sounding spoken descriptions for a series of images
- Record short audio clips (2–3 minutes each) using provided tools or platforms
- Ensure recordings are high quality and free from background noise
- Follow linguistic, timing, and stylistic guidelines from the research team
- Collaborate with QA and AI teams to review and improve data quality
- Work independently and maintain consistency across repetitive tasks
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Excellent verbal communication and enunciation
- Native or near-native fluency in English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow annotation guidelines
Preferred:
- Experience with voice recording or data annotation
- Fluency in additional languages
Compensation & Terms
- Rate: $21/hour
- Type: Hourly contractor
- Location: Remote (UK-based applicants only)
