Responsibilities
- Grow the marine insurance portfolio by developing new relationships and retaining key clients by utilising new and existing Lockton network offices.
- Develop and implement strategy to align with Global Marine and company goals.
- Lead major client negotiations and placement of large and complex marine risks.
- Ensure the accurate and timely placement of marine insurance policies and endorsements.
- Identify market trends and opportunities to expand marine insurance offerings.
- Nurture a team of marine insurance professionals to support Lockton Marine portfolios, leading and mentoring the team to success.
- Set performance targets and ensure continuous professional development, taking responsibility for the strategic growth of the department.
- Maintain high standards of compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Collaborate with finance, claims, and legal teams to optimise operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Support financial budgeting, tracking and credit control.
Qualifications
- Solid experience in marine insurance brokerage with strong knowledge of global marine insurance markets, products, and placement strategies.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Excellent understanding of the relevant classes of business.
- Ability to identify opportunities for business development.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers and other associates.
- Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures.
- An understanding of and adherence to Lockton standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of the computer desktop software provided by Lockton.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications.
