Job Description:

Are you a visionary technology leader ready to drive large-scale transformation and make a real impact on people, places and public services? We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Head of Technology to lead our digital evolution and ensure our organisation delivers modern, user-centred and data-driven services that truly meet the needs of our communities.

What You’ll Lead

  • Define and deliver a bold technology strategy aligned with our priorities.
  • Shape a secure, scalable, cloud-first technology landscape.
  • Oversee platforms, applications and system optimisation.
  • Embed digital, data and technology considerations into major programmes, including transformation initiatives.
  • Act as chief technical adviser to senior leaders, directors and elected members.
  • Bring innovation into everyday practice, promoting emerging technologies and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policy and best practice.
  • Lead financial planning, supplier management and value for money service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven success in delivering organisation-wide technology strategies.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, data governance and agile practice.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing large budgets and complex programmes.
  • Ability to co-design solutions with users and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to operate confidently at all levels.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for innovation, service improvement and public value.
  • Level 6 qualification in IT or equivalent senior experience required.
