Senior Recruitment Officer – Medical Workforce

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Recruitment Officer – Medical Workforce to join the newly established Medical Workforce team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating adverts and organising interview schedules for medical interview panels.
  • Undertaking pre‑employment clearance checks for all non‑training grade medical staff, including completing offers/contracts of employment.
  • Maintaining accurate filing systems and updating recruitment data in the relevant systems.
  • Managing all recruitment activities for training and non‑training grades, advertising vacancies, planning, personal files and onboarding new employees.
  • Collaborating with hiring managers across the Trust to support the medical recruitment process, providing advice and training.
  • Liaising with Senior Clinicians, HR People Partners and Group Managers to lead recruitment initiatives and ensure all recruitment checks comply with NHS employment standards.
  • Providing information on medical workforce issues, terms and conditions of employment, Trust policies and national terms and conditions of employment for doctors.
  • Investigating and resolving employee relation queries, generating reports, completing forms for new starters, leavers or contractual changes.
  • Ensuring compliance with visas, GMC registrations, DBS, occupational health, passports and other regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the Medical Workforce Team during staff absences and supervising Medical Workforce Officers.
  • Advertising all medical roles, utilising social media and job boards and liaising with Communications for coverage.

Additional required skills and experience:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a recruitment role desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Understanding of NHS employment check standards.
