Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for an experienced and confident quality assurance professional with a strong background in academic quality and standards within an educational context. An honours degree, or equivalent experience, experience in academic quality assurance, and a strong understanding of academic standards are essential.
What you’d be doing:
You will provide comprehensive support for the University’s quality assurance systems, working across taught and partner provision to ensure quality processes are delivered consistently and in line with sector best practice. Your role will involve planning and managing quality events such as approvals and reviews, advising and training Academic Departments, servicing panels and committees, producing high‑quality reports, and contributing to the development of regulations, policies, and institutional documentation. You will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues, external panel members and collaborative partners, and will assist with student feedback and survey activity, including the NSS.
You’ll need to enjoy:
- Working confidently with academic colleagues and senior stakeholders, advising on quality processes and requirements
- Interpreting policy and sector guidance, and translating this into clear, practical advice and documentation
- Planning and delivering complex activities, such as approvals and reviews, while managing competing priorities
- Analysing information and student feedback, using insight to support enhancement and continuous improvement
- Working to your values: we care about how people behave as well as what they achieve.
Where you’ll work:
In this role, you’ll be based in the Quality and Academic Standards Unit, on our green campus in the north of Plymouth. Our current hybrid working policy means you can work from home or on campus, but you will be required to maintain strong campus links and be available on‑site at least 2 days per week.
