Electrical Engineer
Location: Bradford • Salary: £40,000 per annum • Employment Type: Permanent
My client is a modern retail and e-commerce business looking for an Electrical Engineer for their warehouse facility in Bradford. The role involves supporting plant and equipment maintenance, PPM, and ensuring reliability of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment such as balers, compactors, roller shutter doors and canteen equipment.
- Inspect, maintain and repair sprinkler systems and associated equipment.
- Test and repair fire alarms, emergency lighting and conduct portable appliance testing.
- Keep accurate maintenance records in a timely manner.
- Diagnose faults and carry out swift repairs to minimise production losses.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on ventilation and air‑conditioning plant, excluding refrigeration components.
- Provide first‑response service for fire alarms (full training provided on site).
- Serve on call duties: 1 week in 5 for building maintenance and standby payments.
- Adhere to the evening shift schedule (12 pm‑8 pm, flexible start/finish); first 6 months will be day shifts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering, preferably with mechanical experience.
- City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience with installation, fault‑finding and repair of electrical equipment in industrial/commercial settings.
