Quality Engineer

Shillito Group are working with a well established, highly regulated manufacturing business looking to strengthen their quality function with an experienced Quality Engineer.

This is a hands on role, working closely with production and engineering to improve quality performance, reduce defects, and ensure processes are controlled and compliant.

The Role

  • Maintain a strong shopfloor presence, ensuring quality is controlled at source
  • Lead root cause investigations (8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC) and implement corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement across scrap, rework and process capability
  • Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Apply statistical methods (SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA) to strengthen process control
  • Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) where required
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits (internal, customer and regulatory)
  • Work cross-functionally to implement sustainable improvements
  • Develop and improve SOPs and quality documentation
  • Support customer issue resolution and improve overall performance

What They’re Looking For

  • Background in manufacturing / engineering quality
  • Strong problem-solving capability with a structured approach
  • Experience using data and statistical tools to drive improvement
  • Understanding of working within regulated environments
  • Able to influence across teams and drive change on the shopfloor
  • Comfortable being hands on and visible in production

Additional Experience (Desirable)

  • Precision engineering or machining environments
  • Knowledge of validation processes
  • Experience with CMM or measurement systems
  • Exposure to highly regulated industries
