The Senior Total Reward Specialist is the organisation’s subject matter expert for global job architecture, leading the design, governance, and continuous enhancement of the job framework. This includes maintaining scalable job families, consistent job evaluation practices, credible career pathways, and transparent market aligned pay structures.
In addition to owning the job architecture and evaluation methodology, the role also provides specialist support for reward governance, including contributing to policies, processes, and the delivery of key governance cycles such as the Nominations & Remuneration Committee (NRC). The position partners closely with senior leaders, People teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure reward decisions are fair, market aligned, and defensible.
What You’ll Do
1. Job Architecture Leadership
- Lead the design, delivery, and maintenance of the organisation’s global job architecture framework.
- Ensure consistent job levelling, scalable job families, and clear, transparent career pathways.
- Develop, maintain and govern the global job catalogue, ensuring accurate role profiles aligned to standards.
- Strengthen governance to prevent level drift and ensure methodology consistency across all geographies.
- Build capability across People teams and managers through education on job architecture principles.
2. Job Evaluation & Role Profiling
- Own and apply the organisation’s job evaluation methodology.
- Conduct complex role evaluations and levelling assessments, providing clear rationale for outcomes.
- Lead creation, review, and improvement of job profiles aligned with architectural standards.
3. Market Pricing & Pay Structures
- Lead market pricing methodology using credible data sources and external intelligence.
- Conduct complex benchmarking analyses to assess competitiveness and external alignment.
- Design and maintain job family pay ranges informed by market data, job evaluation, and internal relativities.
- Monitor global labour market trends and provide insights to inform reward strategy.
4. Reward Governance & NRC Support
- Design, enhance, and embed reward governance frameworks, controls, and processes.
- Support the quarterly Nominations & Remuneration Committee (NRC) cycle, including:
- Preparation of high quality papers, modelling, and benchmarking
- Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely documentation for senior leadership and Board audiences
- Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure effective and seamless governance delivery.
5. Policy, Process & Programme Development
- Support development and continuous improvement of Total Reward policies and processes.
- Ensure reward frameworks are market aligned, accessible, inclusive, and colleague centric.
- Work with regional teams to ensure consistent implementation across the organisation.
- Analyse internal and external data to inform policy updates and incentive design.
6. Analytics, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Provide data driven insight to support reward decisions, pay equity analysis, workforce planning, and career progression.
- Identify and lead opportunities to enhance systems, governance, job architecture practices, and market pricing processes.
- Develop tools, guidance, and training materials to build stakeholder capability.
7. Broader Total Reward Support
- Contribute to global reward projects including compensation cycles, benchmarking, benefits evaluations, incentive design, and systems enhancements.
- Provide specialist support across recognition, benefits, and other reward programmes.
- Lead or contribute to ad hoc reward initiatives aligned to business needs.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience in Total Reward, Compensation, or Job Architecture roles in global organisations.
- Deep technical expertise in job architecture, job evaluation, market pricing, and pay structure design.
- Experience working with market data providers (Mercer, WTW, Korn Ferry, Radford).
- Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills; experience with HRIS and architecture tools preferred.
- Proven ability to prepare materials for senior leadership and Board level audiences.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Experience supporting Remuneration Committee or equivalent governance processes.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and a proactive, collaborative working style.
- Comfortable working in fast paced environments with shifting priorities.
